The Challenge We Faced

Jennifer Carter relied on her Windows computer for work, but when her existing laptop began malfunctioning, she needed her important files transferred and her new Windows 11 computer set up as quickly as possible. To minimize downtime, our technician performed a complete remote migration and setup tailored to her work requirements.

After connecting remotely, our technician identified and organized the files for transfer while completing the new computer’s Windows setup, password reset, Wi-Fi configuration, application installation, browser data migration, and Microsoft Teams setup. Once the migration was complete, all files, applications, and system functionality were verified to ensure the new computer was ready for immediate use.

After understanding the customer's requirements, our technician completed the migration and setup in a structured process.

Connected to the Old Computer

A secure remote session was established on the customer’s existing computer.

The technician reviewed the customer’s requirements, identified the files that needed to be moved, organized them into a dedicated folder, and shared the folder over the network to prepare for the transfer.

Set Up the New Windows Computer

The technician assisted with the complete initial setup of the new Windows 11 computer.

This included:

Completing the Windows setup.
Resetting the account password.
Connecting the computer to the customer's Wi-Fi network
Verifying that the initial configuration was completed successfully.

Transferred Customer Data

Once the new computer was configured, the technician accessed the shared folder and transferred all selected files and folders from the old computer.

After the transfer, the data was verified to ensure the customer could successfully access all transferred files on the new device.

Installed Required Applications

After understanding the customer's requirements, our technician completed the migration and setup in a structured process.

Saved passwords
Browser shortcuts
Performed a successful test print to confirm proper operation.

The browser was then tested to confirm that all imported information was working correctly.

During the same session:

Windows Update was completed successfully.
Microsoft Office 365 was activated and verified to be working properly.

Microsoft Teams Configuration

The customer also requested assistance with Microsoft Teams.

The technician located the Microsoft account that had been used on the previous computer and initially attempted to reset the account password. During the process, Microsoft was not sending the required verification text message, and the customer was advised that Microsoft could temporarily delay additional verification attempts.

The Microsoft Teams password was then reset successfully, the customer was signed in on the new computer, and Microsoft Teams chat was confirmed to be working correctly.
